The main function of the bypass valve

When the pressure difference on both sides of the main valve is large, the bypass can be opened according to the system operating procedure to gradually approach the balance of upstream and downstream pressure, and then the main valve can be operated to reduce the load during the opening stage of the main valve. The bypass size and operation sequence should be determined according to the specific system design.

Bypass cannot replace the calculation of actuator torque

Even if a bypass is configured, the main valve actuator still needs to verify the output torque based on the butterfly plate, seal, maximum pressure difference, and safety factor.
