Confirm the intended duty before ordering. A shut-off globe valve is not automatically a precision control valve. For throttling, provide the steam condition, flow range and upstream/downstream pressures so that the plug, seat, pressure-drop capability and operator can be assessed. For isolation, specify the required shut-off test and leakage acceptance separately.
Not solely because the nominal sizes appear to match. Provide the existing valve drawing or nameplate, flange standard, facing, bolt dimensions and face-to-face length. The replacement also needs a suitable pressure-temperature rating for its actual material. Class, JIS K and PN designations are not interchangeable numerical pressure values.
Use the flow arrow and installation instructions for the selected model. Do not assume every globe valve must have flow under the disc: balanced or other special designs can require a different arrangement. Confirm the permitted flow direction, stem orientation and access for operation and maintenance on the approved drawing.
Send the fluid composition and concentration, normal and design temperatures, working pressure and shut-off differential pressure. The body, seat/disc, stem packing and any lining must all suit the duty; choosing stainless steel for the body alone does not settle sealing or corrosion performance. State any particles, cleaning chemicals and required material documentation in the enquiry.
