Valve selection
ANSI Class 300 American standard flange globe valve
What is J41W-300LB American standard flange globe valve?
J41W-300LB is a flange connected globe valve belonging to the Class300 pressure class, which achieves the cutting off or connection of pipeline medium through the cooperation of valve disc and valve seat. Class300 is a grade in the American standard pressure rating system, and the actual working pressure should be determined based on the material and working temperature.
What is the difference between Class300 and Class150?
The two belong to different pressure levels. In addition to differences in pressure temperature ratings, there may also be differences in the size, structural design, and matching components of some flanges. Therefore, Class150 products cannot be directly used as Class300 products by simply replacing the flanges.
How to choose sealing surfaces such as RF and RTJ?
The specific form of flange sealing surface should be determined according to product design, pressure rating, pipeline flange, and project specifications. It is not possible to automatically determine that all specifications use the same sealing surface based solely on the name "Class300".
How to confirm materials and special working conditions?
The material selection for the valve body and valve internals should be based on the corrosiveness of the medium, temperature, and pressure. If the project involves low temperature, high temperature, corrosive media or other special conditions, further confirmation of material low-temperature toughness, sealing and packing design should be carried out, and it should not be recognized as suitable for special working conditions solely through ordinary product post-processing.
What parameters are required for selection?
Media, temperature, working pressure, diameter, flange and sealing surface standards, valve body and internal material, sealing requirements, operating methods, and special environmental requirements need to be provided.
J41W-300LB globe valve common problems
Is Class300 a fixed working pressure for 300psi?
No. Class is a pressure rating name, and the actual allowable pressure is related to the valve material and working temperature. The corresponding pressure temperature rating should be checked.
Is it necessary to use RTJ sealing surface for Class300 flange globe valve?
not always. The flange sealing surface needs to be confirmed based on specific specifications, product design, and project pipeline standards.
Can the ordinary Class300 globe valve be directly used for low-temperature media?
It cannot be judged solely based on Class300. Low temperature working conditions also require confirmation of valve body and internal material, packing, sealing structure, minimum design temperature, and corresponding test requirements.
